Is iRelaunch Worth Trusting with my Resume? An EEAT Analysis

For this content marketing analysis I am evaluating the company iRelaunch using the EEAT model.  EEAT (Experience, Expertise, Authoritativeness and Trustworthiness) is the framework Google uses to evaluate web content for quality and credibility  (Google).

So before I determine if iRelaunch is a valuable resource for my relaunch, why not see what Google would think? Could this be what comes next for me?

What is iRelaunch?

The website claims “iRelaunch is premiere global, full service career reentry company pioneering the return to work arena since 2007. We connect thousands of mid-career relaunching professionals with global employers ready to tap into their experience.” (About iRelaunch).

Sounds great. The company also reports having more than 125 000 relaunchers (that’s me!) and 330+ employers.

Seems like it will be a good fit.  So now I need to do a deeper dive!  Does iRelaunch meet the criteria of Experience, Expertise, Authoritativeness and Trustworthiness?

iRelaunch was started by two women, Carol Fishman Cohen and Vivien Steir Rabin in 2007.   That means they have been in the business of relaunch for nearly 20 years.  Vivien stepped away from the company in 2014 to focus on VSR Advisors, an executive search firm, but not before co-authoring Back on Track: A Guide for Stay-at-Home Moms Who Want to Return to Work with Cohen in 2008 (Fishman Cohen and Rabin).

Experience

Both of the founders, Cohen and Rabin, were relaunchers themselves, giving them firsthand experience of returning to work after a career break.

Expertise

Although Rabin is no longer running the company, Carol Fishman Cohen has demonstrated significant expertise in career re-entry.  She is the author of a TED Talk “How to Get Back to Work After a Career Break” (Fishman Cohen). She is a frequent contributor to Harvard Business Review (Fishman Cohen).  In addition, iRelaunch has a community of more than 125,000 relaunchers.

Together, these accomplishments demonstrate a deep knowledge of how to relaunch as a professional returning to work after an extended career break, like myself.

Authoritative

Experience and expertise established let’s have a look at how authoritative iRelaunch is.  Authority is most often demonstrated through recognition by others, including media coverage and industry recognition. Carol’s TED talk has nearly 3.8 million views!

Carol is an award winning speaker with a podcast 3,2,1 iRelaunch.

Carol has been recognized as an authority in the relaunch field through being quoted in Forbes and appearing on NBC news (Carol Fishman Cohen). She is an authority in her own right because she successfully returned to work herself after an 11-year career break,

Trustworthiness

So what makes iRelaunch trustworthy?  How can women returning to work and companies hiring them trust iRelaunch? In my view, they have almost 20 years of experience, they have consistent content on blogs, podcasts, external media sources, webinars and events.  They have over 125,000 members in  their community of returners, and over 330 employer partners,  including many Fortune 500 companies (“About iRelaunch”)

Their longevity, educational resources and employer partnerships indicate that both job seekers and employers trust iRelaunch.

So what does all this mean to me?

iRelaunch is a global company. After evaluating iRelaunch through Google’s EEAT framework, I think now may be the perfect time to upload my resume and see what comes next!

Editor’s Note:

This post was created for my Foundations of Digital Communications Strategy course. I chose to evaluate a website for women relaunching from a career break. Throughout this course I have used AI as an editor. In this particular post, AI helped ensure I had my citations correct, acted as a thesaurus and checked my grammar.
